    Oh.. so what is your name? It shouldn't be hard to translate it in katakana at least. (sorry, if you mentioned it before already ^^0)

    according to japanese-name-translation.com my first name clifton in Kanji is Ku-ri-fu-ton and it means Eternal Reason Wealth Industrious

    but my name alex is are-kusu in kanji and it means Wild Camphor tree
    (You are like a wild camphor tree sturdy and unbowed by the storms of life.)

    You people do realize that you can't really find an Japanese equivelent to your name. You can find an equivalent to your name's meaning by not the name itself. What most of you are doing is finding the pronunciation of your name in Japanese which isn't really finding you name in Japanese, it's more like how you would say it with a Japanese accent. And if you were to write the pronuncation it would be writen in katakana, and therefore would not really mean anything.

    ie. say your name is Ian. well when put into katakana it would be i-a-n in katakana characters. and doesn't mean the same as i-a-n in hiragana(or kanji in this case) which means comfort. however if you were to look up the meaning of the name Ian and then translating the meaning the result would then in a way be the Japanese form of the name.

    Just to add to this thread, being Japanese my Japanese birth name is Harumi, but that has no relation to my english name which is Valerie.
