ah that is a good point. it makes me think of that episode of House where the kid is sick because he wasn't vaccinated as a baby and his parents didn't think it necessary to tell them he was adopted.

i actually thinks it's best for them too know... hiding secrets from people only leads to a big misunderstanding.

i think adopted kids SHOULD be told as soon as possible

Reason:-

a friend of mine back @ sixth form (a long time ago ) was adopted
we had all known him and sister for years,
when his mother @ a party let slip to a couple of his friends that both he and his sister were adopted, because she couldnt have children

this made things pretty harsh for everybody around these 2 because we knew but the didnt - and there was no way we were gonna be the ones to tell them.

and this caused the rest of to avoid them - just through the embarassement.
To this day i dont think that the 2 of them know - that they were adopted
