Have you tried the compatibility settings...
(Right click on Program Icon, Properties->(Tab)Compatibilites...)
this time it is not the hardware, but the software. And I got to say that while I like using windows, it's getting on my nerves.
Can anyone help me?? Is it even possible anymore to run old programs on XP?? they keep giving me this message saying I can't run those 16 bit programs.
If there was a more angrier smilies I would use it...

yes, I have seen that, but I don't know how to quite work those things and not sure if it would mess things up

For older 16 bit programs, set it for Win95 compatibility. You don't need to worry about screwing up, as if it doesn't work, you can always change the settings back to default...
If it's a DOS based program, you could try using DOSBox, which emulates DOS. I personally use it to play old games which don't work in XP.
oh okay I see, does it also work for programs on cds I haven't installed yet??Originally Posted by LenMiyata

actually i did some fancy partition manipulation wit partition magic and came up wit a brand new 256MB partiton that i installed dos 6.22 on to run my old dos based games. it works much better than any emulator i have ever seen. you could try this.
WARNING!!!!!!!!
the dos partition MUST be the first partition on the drive. dos cares about this. windows XP doesn't as much. it'll have to put some files on the forst partition but if you hide those you'll be all set.....
