Newbie | Any good anime? Ever since my friend showed me some anime, I couldn't get enough of the stuff. But its becoming a problem.Ya see, theres a lot of anime out there, but the only channel I can find some of it is on the [adult swim] block. And theres little shops that sells anime where I live. What should I do? |

![]() ![]() Credits: 36,512 | Grumble Grumble Grumble There are Internet/Mail Order sites that you can purchase Anime DVDs from, as well as mail DVD rental shops. It also pays to look at some of the Anime magazines (such as USA NewType) to look over the series previews to see what kind of series might interest you...

![]() ![]() Credits: 210 | I sugguest taking a good look back on the series you liked and using that as a backbone for exploring new titles. Ask yourself why you liked them, what elements of them did you like and use that as a start. Look for different anime from the same studio/original writer/creator/character designer/genre etc. Stay with what you're familar with first, and then start branching into different types of anime and different genres. Check out interent pages like fansites, reviews sites and talk to other fans about different series. Checking out Newtype as Len suggested is a good idea too. That's what I did when I was an Anime newbie with only Evangelion under my belt. Now the type of anime I like now is nothing like Eva at all.

| Newbie | Go to sites like this. Read different posts on anime. Look back to the ones you liked as another person said. Most people have a certain style of anime they like to watch. There's sites you can go to buy anime, there's best buy, suncoast, etc. (I cant think of all the stores I go to at the moment). If you have any other friends who watch anime then borrow the sets. It was really great where I lived before because the mall nearby had a store where you could rent anime. Even see if your local movie rental place has some anime. They tend to have atleast a small selection. Rent until you figure out the style you like and what anime youd know you would like to watch.
