I still have to go with the Subaru battle that took place on the bridge in the X tv series. Everything about it, the animation, the carnage, the music. Damn good fight.
So it's only anime action scenes?
I'm not going into space combat right now with Macross etc.
Just a simple one on one battle, perhaps even the greatest one on one battle ever in an anime.
Saitou Hajime vs. Kenshin Himura/Hitokiri Battousai
Great emotion, awesome fighting and two evenly matched opponents.

Forgot all about X-TV, that series had some nice carnage going on. Especially how many of them end. Very original stuff.Originally Posted by narrator
Has anyone got some more scenes like the ones Len posted?
Space/land/air/sea/whatever battles and things like that?
Kenshin Vs. Shishio from Rurouni kenshin: The Legend of Kyoto. That is my opinion.
Initial D... Tak vs. Ry Takahashi
Oi! It was a good battle. I agree with you as well.Originally Posted by kedar

Other Jaw dropping anime scenes that I can think of ...
The first episode of R.O.D. (OVA), the aerial dogfight scene with Yomiko's infamous 'Paper Airplane'
Cardcaptor Sakura, (for those who can't stomach Magical Girl series, your missing some of the best stories in all of anime...) The opening episode with the capture of the Fly Card, the second episode with the capture of 'Shadow' Card, and the third episode with the capture of the 'Water' Card were all very very impressive...
Cardcaptor Sakura: The Movie, the first face to face confrontation between Sakura and Madoushi (the Water Witch), and their final confrontation (starting with Sakura's breakout from the pocket reality trap, I could just imagine the cheers in the theater when Sakura starts here chant to transform her key pendent into the Clow wand...)
Miyazaki drama movies. There are too many great action scenes to count in both 'Spirited Away' and 'Nausicaa of the Vallye of the Wind'
The first appearance of the Strong ARM mechas in the opening episode of 'Full Metal Panic' is also a great dramatic scene...
Man the best..totally Brolly Vs. the people like goku at ect..they needed more heavy metal and that scene would be legendary but that was awsome.
