Full Metal Alchemist, easy. The story is amazing, deep and dark, but they were still able to inject plenty of humor, not to mention the amazing animation and character detail. My original first place would have been Bleach, but it's too early in the series to say, sadly.

Well when I say best of 04 I have to go by catagorys, such as action, horror, comedy, and sci fi. For Action I say FMA all the way, totally rocked 04, and it also has a bit of sci fi involved. Naruto was totally best of 03 (not that I still don't watch it!) but I think this topic needs more of a definition, such as "anime that came out in 04 that is finished a season" or "what is your fav anime of 04" ya know?

I thought the title, "The best anime YOU'VE SEEN IN 2004 " was enough. It should really be obvious to only state an anime you have seen all the way through.

Full metal alchemist, its original, the story and the characters are great. everythin about it is great. if you miss an episode u miss a lot. I rate it over naruto whic h is my second fave.

Full Metal Alchemist was mine for 2004...saw some of Elfen Lied and it was pretty good but wasn't my taste really.

maybe i'll choose [MADLAX] as my first choice.
and BLEACH too, but bleach is still not a complete series and just started.
