The year was hearty in high quality anime, but I'll go with Tenjou Tenge. I enjoyed every it of it. And, if I'm mistaken and that's from 03', then I'll just say FMA.

Personally I enjoyed seeing Ghost in the Shell:Stand Alone Complex, Full Metal Alchemist, Gankutsuou, Naruto, & Veiwtiful Joe. Those are what made anime possible, in 2004. Hopefully there will be more promising things in 2005.

    Macross Zero.

Awesome animation, great story and didn't push too much of the history around. I really enjoyed it.
