Best WAr movie you have seen?

THere are a lot of good war movies out their and a lot of crappy ones. THe ones I thought were the best were:

We were soldiers
Saving private Ryan
THe longest day
U-571
Tora! Tora! Tora!
Battle of Midway

THose are the ones I can name from the top of my head but there are more.

Apocalypse Now. I mean damn....talk about atmosphere, it just did such a good job of putting you right into the horror of war. One of the best, hands down. SPR was good also!

i agree with ya narrator, Apocalypse Now is probably my fav war movie of all time. and to also note, i actually thought it was better then godfather.

i liked The Patriot is anyone could agree with that one. savign private ryan and we were soldiers were great too.

Heheh... hell yeah... John Wayne was The Awesome. Well, The Duke really... but he was awesome anyways.

Full Metal Jacket

My favorite by far is Saving Private Ryan only influenced more by the fact that its the only one I own. An awesome cast, some of the best cinematics of all time, an above average story line, and it definately sparks some emotion. This movie has everything a war movie should have in my opinion. Its gonna be hard to dethrone this one in my eyes.
