ichigo's bankai is so cool to me...! ^_^ i can't wait to see the full extent of his power! with his bankai...ichigo's so cool! he's in control!
I think it makes some kind of sence. I think that the massive energy that normally makes his soul slayer huge is just being condenced into something much more powerful. Remember, the sword empowers him when they work together. His Bankai is the just another step in the two of them becoming more of a single entity. His power is refined when the sword is smaller, that does't make it weak at all.

Just had a thought. It could be that when he uses his Bankai, it alows him to retain more of his energy instead of feeding it to his soul slayer. That is why he is so fast.

Well just saw it today ****ing awesome, but i think that his baktai was just a small version of his true potenial and what i wanna no is what is up with those comments about who ichigo looks like! but it should be explained.
I've seen it in the manga. It looked cool there. And now the anime version looked amazing! I can't wait the next coming episode, where the true power revealed.
Btw, i can't wait to see the real power of Byakuya's Bankai too.
