Aight, recently got a game. Unfortunately for me, i freakin lost the cd key. :nono: not really cool. So i'm wondering if i can be able to retrive the cd key by asking the game company/looking through the game data folder etc. (i haven't found the cd key for a month or so now). Any help would be appreciated.
have you already registered the CD with a e-mail address or screen name, if not you're screwed.
Not yet. But i can do that now if thats what i takes to get the cd key back. But i don't recall it asking me to register.
before I get started, what game is it? if its something old like Halo for the PC then you might as well find a CD key over the internet because its old and its from microsoft. But if we're talking about Half Life 2, it would be in your best interest to go buy another one.

If game companies put the keys on the cds and dvds, they would all go out of business. Also, I highly doubt that you would ever get any game company employee to give you a key through email, phone or letter. Forging the proper documentatiion and proof of purchase is way easier to do than cracking security codes or finding keygens for new games.Quote:
