Thread: Chakra, Chi, and KI

I practiced Tai Chi, and I believe in Chi at least.

I do believe in some sort of inner energy, and that with extensive training of the mind you can probably learn to make better use of it. Certainly not to the extent they commonly do in anime, however. Fiction is fiction and I don't see anyone flying around outside my window.


Let's be thankful for that.

Yeah I believe they're real. As a matter of fact, I don't think it's possible to not have at least SOME stored away energy.

I'm practically sure that it exists, it's tied to your breathing too.
For me, the most beautiful proof that this energy exists is Aikido.

You are absolutely right. Invoking this type of energy depends very much on breathing. That is why, here we have the yogic technique called Pranayama, one of the best breathing mechanisms one can learn. Believe it.

I do believe it. They use it a lot in Naruto. Believe it.

...first off, read "The Mysterious Powers of Ki", that's a good book.
That's not why I believe in it, though....


In this day and age, the younger generations (especially in America) are starting to regard "Ki and Chi and Chakra" as a load of ****...

Can you also believe that this is true because of animes?

The more ki and chi is used completely out of context (ie. animes, videogames, etc), the less anyone believes in it...


Though, then comes the discussion "What is Ki?"...

Is it the energy that fills every empty space? Is it the energy within all living things? Is it Life itself? Is it a fable of imagination? Is it the phenomena in several occassions listed? Is it connected with psychic energy? Can it take a physical form?

Etc etc....

... can it take a physical form? For me, I believe, it can make a physical form......
Anything else from me? ... not really, I'm too sick to actually think right now... (bad ki bad ki me has bad ki)
