I don't see the comparsion expect for Chobits.
Don't forget Clamp started out doing Yaoi doujinshi, and most of their work is laced with Shounen-ai hints and Angst and aimed at girls. Read X and you'll understand.
Chobits was the only series in that genre that Clamp has ever done.
