Are wa talking about the songs? or the games? I'm confused. Anyways the best DDR game I've come to play is DDR Extreme (Jap Version) [since we all know american version blows... ^_^;], and the best song I've ever played would be hard to come to since I like a lot of the DDR songs.

Actually the American version was pretty good. It offered a good amount of new songs (A, V, 321 Stars, The Legend of Maxx, and the Silent Hill songs), a new Max that focused more on being fun than hard (Maximizer), licensed songs that actually had good steps (Music -Bostik Radio Edit-, and Move your Feet among others), and some pretty good returning Konami originals (I Feel... , Tsugaru, Drop Out). They definately improved the Oni courses from the original Max (those ones were awful) with much more better themed courses and the ability to make your own courses. Same goes for the Non-stop mode. The selectable characters are pretty damn nifty also. Sure the Japanese CS version is still better but I can't complain about the American version.

Regarding Arcade versions, my favorite mixes are 5th mix and Extreme.

Have you tried the japanese version Wobb? I was just saying the American Version compared to the Japanese version was a really bad deal...

I have both the American and Japanese versions of Extreme. The Japanese version may be superior to the American version but the American version doesn't exactly suck.

And another thing, the American version of Extreme gets extra brownie points for being the first rated "E" game to feature the "F" word multiple times.

arcade 5th mix is a classic, DDR Extreme is tight (all we have at our arcade) home versions are all pretty good. I actually like all the Max's (both US and Japanese) and of course Japanese DDR Extreme, the US extreme is nanh, has a few good songs though
