Thread: did you here new trigun coming out

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the Trigun Movie. Many other 'proposed' series have entered preproduction, but end up never seeing the light of day. This has included sequels to popular and successful series. (The sequel to the Bubblegum Crisis remake, 'Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2041' has been in preproduction hell since the start of this Century...) The Trigun series was only marginally successful in it's original Japan release. (And the fact that Geneon/Pioneer Animation only sold the Vash vinyl figurine in the US market supports this...) The fact that no official release date was announced does not look promising. Madhouse Studios may in fact be fishing for funding from the US distributors, (which is also iffy, considering the recent decline in the US anime DVD market...)

Way to squash our hopes, Len. But I do remember reading a couple of years ago that Yoshiro Nightow (I know that spelling's wrong), Trigun creator, had no interest in doing a sequel of Trigun; he was content with his work on the manga, and so I don't see why he would change his mind, especially if there is little interest in Japan.

no way that is totally awsome me and myfirends were talking the other day about how trigum should have kept going wiht the anime like the manga. im sooo happy

I would be very excited for a Trigun movie ... It's one of 3 anime/mangas I truly am in love with. I won't hold my breath, though. And if it truly does take a couple of years ... I suppose it's worth the wait.
