I have no idea how I managed to do this but... in the Thumbnail view for my folder (Windows XP Pro, SP2) the names for my folders and files are gone. In any other view they appear. Every other folder has the files name appear, this problem only occurs in just the My Documents folder.
Anyone have any ideas on how I can get this thing to show my filenames again?

Highlight your 'My Documents' Folder, then go to the following menu...
View->Choose Details...
And see if the Name box is checked
It is checked, But no names appear for the Thumbnails view.
Try to uncheck it, apply, then check again and OK.
No good it won't let me de-select Name.
The weird thing is, if I rename the folder, the files appear, and if I access it differently, the names appear... the only time they DON'T appear is when I manually click on the folder, really weird.

It sounds like the account properties are screwed for that directory. Try running 'disk doctor' (or what every file repair utility) on the drive and see if it comes up with any errors. Also try creating a second account on your machine, and see if the symptoms still occur with the different account...
You could have accidentally turned off that folders individual file name option. If you don't mind trying to reset all of your folders, try this.
Inside any folder, on the top explorer bar:
Tools/Folder options...
view (tab)
Reset All Folders
But that problem of yours sounds pretty funky, and this may not work.
