Thread: Do dreams have meanings?

Most of the time I have wonderfuldreams where I never want to wake, but then there are times when I have nightmares so scary it makes me wanna scream. Like the other night I dreamt that some deformed madman was chasing me with a baseball bat. Then I was in a corner and he started beating me to death when I screamed so loud the alarm in my house went off. And the neighbors even called 911.

I mainly see dreams as memories of something you have experienced, of people you have met, what you may wish, what you forgot to do that day which was important, something which has been stressing you out, sometimes about your last thoughts before sleeping, or sometimes it's just something your mind messes up to the point that you just wake up afterwards in confusion ^^;; But I remember one dream I had which was freaky, it was a continuous dream. When it stopped at one point when I had to get up, it continued again once I slept again the next night... And strangely enough... It was a dream about me becoming an Eva pilot in Neon Genesis Evangelion lol. It was somewhat cool, like a new movie or something hehe

I believe that dreams can have meanings, but not as you see it in your dreams, it's like a riddle you have to solve.

really, you mean aliens don't have buttocks that explode and shower people in jam (i love eddie izzard). i've had some freaky dreams, some really messed up dreams, but the weirdest one to date is where i saw something that i believe to be afterlife, i have dreams based on this alot and i see them as memories of past time in this place that you go to once you die, infact i have a religion based around. i've also had a scary dream in which a spider lays eggs in my eyes whilst i sleep, i then wake up and the eggs start hatching and the spiders start to eat my body, so i set myself alight and jump through my window.

oh doesn't anybody else here get that freaky thing where you wake up and your heart like skips a beat?

oooooo here's something scary, it's beleived by dream scientists (or what ever their proffesional name is) that if in your dream you actually see your self die, you die in real life.

wow thas exactly what my mom said... anyway i agree all my dreams have been mostly about zombies or rabbits but i dont really think they have meanings apart from to scare me shi*less (the rabbit ones not the zombie ones).

from a scientific point of view, dreams are just there to keep your brain occupied while your body needs rest at night. dreams are usually what the person thought about sub consciously that the brain stores away and tells u later in your dreams. i think that's the closest theory i can believe right now.

Dreams are so crazy, I love 'em. I've had someone really mad at me because he dreamed I was ignoring him or something and he didnt realize it was a dream for a while. Those kind of dreams freak me out, the ones that I cant remember if they were dreams or not. Or when I wake up, cant remember dreaming and then something will happen and suddenly it feels like I dreamed the exact thing. Maybe the point of dreams is simply God or whatevers up there likes messing with our minds.
(And no I dont actually believe that)
