Not yet, though I've heard speculation that anyone from Rudy "America's Mayor" Giuliani to Condoleeza Rice could run.

Could be nasty.
Exactly what I was getting at, nice post.

There aren't too many of them, so it's a small loss. Though you are correct, many of them don't like the Republican stance on gay marriage (try reading Andrew Sullivan sometime, a gay Republican).

Rudy Giuliani could be a bit overrated as all can see when he was Named Man of the Year. As for Rice, I would ponder how some Republicans would do about the issue of her race.

Giuliani is possibly a bit overrated, but I personally like him. I also like John McCain, but he's too "middle of the aisle" to run as a Republican president.

As for Rice, I would agree that her race (and maybe sex) wouldn't necessarily put her in the best position for running in the Republican party, but I could be wrong. Stranger things have happened in politics. If we're talking about black people running for president, though, I'd rather see Colin Powell.

I don't think he would want that position... I could be wrong though.

Knowing what I do of Powell, you are probably right. Still, I'd like to see him run if he wanted the job.

Her race would only matter to people who care about such things and no one political party has a corner on that market in spite of what people try to tell you. Since it's Republican politicians trying to talk her into it I doubt it would be a problem.

Since this thread is about the National Democratic party maybe the real question is how would they react if she did run?

I wouldn't be surprised if NDP pushed out Hilliary Clinton to counteract Rice
