I think that would go a long way to harmonizing the changeover from spoken Japanese to say English ... this would also have the benefit of a better translational fit because the originator of the initial dialogue is the one responsible for its adaptation ... and hopefully the unique cultural elements should IMO stay ... I remember in one episode of Robotech ... one of the girls was holding sushi and it was translated as a Twinki or HoHo (American fastfood pastry)

I agree...all of the voices suck. I prefer hearing them in Japanese or even in Sanscrit, if possible.
