I totally agree. Cuteness is just way too...cute. LoL, smooth...

If I recall correctly, my first manga was the Akira series from Marvel's EPIC line (this was quite awhile before Dark Horse got the rights to the series). Around that same time I started reading Lone Wolf and Cub, even though I was mad when I found out chapters were skipped (good thing this little problem has been corrected with the more recent re-release of the series).

However, it was probably Mixxzine that got me most interested in manga, especially the series Parasyte, which had everything I was looking for in a comic (interesting concept, good characterization, and bizarre moments).

It was probably Silent Mobius. That's the only one that comes to mind when i try to think back that far.

Once I finished my DVD collection of Saber Marionette, I turned to manga for the first time and picked up the collection of Saber Marionette J. Since then I have read Kenshin, Hellsing, and a few others.

I just got into manga so i would have to say Battle Royale ^_^

The first manga i've ever read was Fist of the Blue Sky, too bad they never release it all in english .

Oh goodness, my first manga was a long...long time ago. It was either Sailormoon or Doraemon.
