Fixing images

I'm fixing an old image using photoshop 7 that has a lot of cracks.

I'm using the same concept for fixing red eyes.

- create a duplicate picture and create a layer from it
- use eye drop to get the right color scheme
- use paint brush (usually circle 1-2 px size) and begin coloring it in
- Than used filters > Blur > Gaussian
- Combine the layer using blend hue.

I'm just wondering if there is a better way to fixing these cracks?

Re: Fixing images

You also take the hard route and vector the image and then simply add in a few efects later on. Vectoring is hard and there are many tutorials supplied on the net.
