We already had a gasoline price thread going... Since so many posts have been made in this duplicate thread, they are being merged together....
And down here in Morgan's Gulch, gas yesterday was $2.85/gal, but this morning jumped to $2.99/gal. And it was only $2.67/gal last week!!!

ok, well the reason why the gas prices are up are due to a number of factors, one is the relatively high price of crude oil that has been going up ever since time began(exagerating) and the fact that OPEC countries are currently at their ceiling gap for oil although they may increase their ceiling levels, also the market for oil and natural gas is as volatile as the stock market, when something happens the market fluctuates. The hurricane did ALOT of damage to the gulf, basically it ripped off about 15 oil platforms off of the coast(which destoryed the supply end), some companies still have refineries floating in the gulf, it also destoyed the pipeline which runs through the south and through Atlanta no less which caused panic(on the demand end). Right now, due to the hurricane prices will become even higher and stay higher for awhile until the oil companies can get back to their normal output, then the prices will stabilize, then continue to climb linearly.
Atlanta gas prices range from 3.15-3.25 for regular unleaded, and when gas stations price gouged, it hit a RECORD 5.79 per gallon. Nobody should panic, like Len said, people have to change their habits in order to adapt to the current situation.

now its gone up to three dollars and that is just a load of ...crap
Right, I don't know the situation in States but in Europe prices of gasoline and diesel are in heavens.
Because of that unfortunate f4-class hurricane in USA prices of gasoline has
gotten up to 1,5€/l or ~7,11$/us gallon. I think that it is outrageous.
Allthou one explanation to that is VERY high gasoline tax in Finland (58%),
but even after that it's way too high. Diesel is something like 1,0€-1,15€/l.
Now I would like to know your opinions and what gasoline cost in your homeland.
1us gallon ~ 3.785L
1€ about ~ 1.25USD
Love hurts...trust me I know, I really do...
