GIMP help

I have the hardest time to get a picture off of the web and getting the backround away from the character like this for example:

I'm not sure what you're asking, but if you want Sora away from the backround, then just highlight him with Magic Wand in a paint program. I only have PSP7, so I'm not even sure any other program has a magic wand.

Whatever. I still have no real clue what you're asking.

so you mean you are having the hardest time cutting out sora from the background, in that case, zoom in and use the polygon lasso to go around sora. When you have finished with that right click and "select the inverse" then press delete.

I am asking how I get that white away from sora

if thats the orginal image with no layers then there is no way to get rid of it unless you are willying to make a new signature.
