Thread: goth?

What exactly makes it a lifestyle? The way I see it, It's just a fad. Like boy-bands and Kabbalah.

And I agree.

Goth is a style of music that combines heavy metal with punk.
When someone is gothic it means like they worshiping the devil, and almost have no emotion, wear a lot of black, etc……….

Its just a trend, or a way to rebel against their parents. They kinda freek me out. Well I guess their fun at haloween?

I hate that word "Goth" I mean last time I checked being "Goth" meant you didnt want a label but by saying your a "Goth" thats going aginst what you dont want right? add to it labels just suck when you get out in to the real world there arent really labels unless you make the effort to put people in groups and when you do that you just make problems.

me and my friends have came up with the 3 most basic goth groups according to us:
True Goths
Rock Goths(including punk, heavy, etc)
and Faux Goths, these people i hate. especially the ones who go out and announce it to everyone. that just screams POSER

a few of my friends are rock goths and wear the studded clothes and stuff, but they don't paint their nails and stuff like that

worship the devil????? no emotion????? wear a lot of black... well yes, but as for the other two in general they don't really worship the devil BUT they do seem to have slight obsesion with the supernatural though usually they don't link this to the devil.

i found that this does explain goths in general, and explains the main part that even though you can give a rough outline to the meaning of goth it's mainly up to the individual.

i used to be a goth but now im not. im not labeling myself to fit in to a group. so goths sorry but im out. now i like the goth look as in the black cloths and stuff but im not goth.im not anything. im not a prep, a goth, no im nothing. im not lowering myself to try and fit in with people by calling myself something. i have my fine friends already how feel the same way. and we all dress different! so goth should even mean a thing if your just wearing black, not having any emotion (down here in miami goth means just to wear black and not to give a danm about what other people say or do to you) and just walking around. no sorry not me. do i give a danm about what epople say about me...no i dont. i act the way i want to and if they dont like it well then they can go screw themselfs. and do i like goth anymore? yes its ok but most of my goth friends dont walk around with no emotion. they be who they are. and show it. im so proud of my goth friends! although i wish they didnt lable themselfs. they say there not but what is goth? ya ok i made my point.

and for your peoples info not all goths worship the devil!!!! i hate it when people think that! its not true! goth has changed and most goths dont worship the devil! yes they do wiccan like i do but thats it. and it doesnt mean we worship the devil! if someone near me ever said that goth was to worship the devil id smack them one across the check!!!!!!!!
