The mod to make a Sim nude was courtesy of a third party. The sex that Hot Coffee unlocks is part of the native code. Therein lies the difference.
    Clan? What Clan?
I'm the Master. I need no Clan.

Now they only have themselves to blame if their kids are playing it.
1 year of age doesn't make much of a difference. In the year between 17 and 18, you really don't learn anything that you already knew, except for what you learn in school. This would be a bigger deal if the AO rating was ages 21/22 and over and not 18 and over. Just to let you guys know, the M rating used to be for ages 18 and over, but it was lowered one age(which really didn't make a difference). So well, while some may be proud of this, a +1 year playable age accomplishment doesn't really change anything. If it takes this little change to open up some parents eyes, then there really is a problem here.

While the one year doesn't make much a difference most game retailers refuse to sell AO rated games. All Copies of GTA have been ordered to be removed from Gamestop and EB Games shelves and cannot be sold in the store, that's what the huge difference is, Rockstar can only distro this game via the internet and small game shops that don't mind the AO Rating.

What I'm saying is, this would be a much bigger impact and make a lot more sense to do if the age rating for AO was higher. Seeing as it is only 18 and the new "feature" has already been seen in other M games, what do retailers truly need to panic about and refuse to sell?

It's just the way it is, There are rules and regulations and blah blah blah, technically now GTA:SA has vivid "realistic" Pornographic material, in other words, aoll current versions of GTA:SA are in the same class as a porno DVD, there are rules and regulations to distribute pornographic material that many game shops can't follow because their key market, young adults and teens can't be near any of that. So if it's got an AO rating it's going to be passed up.

-sigh- Who hasn't heard about Hot Coffee. Meh, I have the first version of the game, and I personally have no intentions of unlocking this mod. I just don't see why Rockstar didn't just remove the code. Wait, yes I do. They thrive on issues like this.

Yeah, I get the point that the differece between 17 and 18 is not that big. But this is what parents want, and if enough of them make a fuss about it, then then they'll get what they want. And like I said, rockstar has already made the money they want. Now they know that even if most retailers refuse to carry the game, there will still be ways to get it, and now they have a whole new demographic to sell to; those who don't have the game, but will buy it just for this code. It was probably planned from the beginning; just as sales begin to taper off, they let this cat out of the bag, and now they're banking again.

And I remember now, at the top of my lungs in my arms, she dies, she dies.

You don't really think rockstar planned all of this do you? Their GTA SA game won't sell as much as it used to if you ask me.
