yeah I did read where they said the flood were possibly a forerunner experiment gone wrong. Like they were trying to make something to enhance their own physical prowess or maybe live longer who knows, guess they screwed that one up lol

Ok I see. So are all of the halos modeled exactly the same? I'm asking this because the levels where you were on Halo looked extremely similar, almost mirroring the Halo in Halo 1. Also, did anyone ever notice the markings on the covenants' armor? They have halo signs and other signs, showing they worship the halos like a kind of religion item. I also heard a theory that the covenant prophets know that the halos are a weapon and are intent on using it and are just making up the religion and the holy way as a ploy to trick the elites...I wonder why they would want to use it though. This means they must know something about the halo that the humans don't. Also, it's impossible to think that the forerunners are covenant because the Halos contain environments very similar to the earth and the four seasons, and the halos structures and buildings dont have that "plasma" alien look to it like covenant ships and weapons.

Yeah, like how the control rooms looked exactly alike. [/sarcasm]

Anyway, I really think that was pretty close to the truth, well truth of the story anyway. I enjoyed reading every word and I also agree with most of what gig said.

That reminds me, gig we sould play sometime.

Well, off to play another game. Ragnarok!!

343 Guilty Spark(Halo1): "The installation was specifically built to study and contain the Flood. Their survival as a race was dependant upon it. I am grateful to see that some of them survived to reproduce."
Not conclusive proof that humans are in fact forerunners. It's not clear which race he is referring to.

Personally, I think that humans were probably once part of the Covenant and the Convenant served the Forerunners. If, as that person suggested, the Humans are the Forerunners, then why does the Covenant hate humans so much yet regard the Halos as holy?

Regret: "Yet the humans were able to evade your ships, land on the Sacred Ring, and desecrate it with their filthy footsteps!"

The evidence that was posted doesn't verify that Humans are Forerunners. 343 GS referred to the MC and Humans as Reclaimers. But, if humans did create the Halos, then why doesn't he call us Creators? To reclaim something, is to retrieve or recover it. IMO humans were once part of the covenant and served the Forerunners. I think that maybe when the flood was released, the Forerunners had to choose one of the races from the covenant to battle it head on (to minimise potential flood hosts maybe?). They chose humans, and gave humans the task of fighting the flood and thus reclaim planets/ships etc lost to the flood. Hence, why 343GS referred MC and the dead Sergeant as a reclaimer in Halo 1. Before the 7 Halos were activated, they created Earth (the Ark) and placed humans on it to safeguard the main controls that will reactivate all 7 Halos. That's why Regret went to Earth, and Truth also goes to Earth at the end of the game. To activate all 7 Halos and begin their "great journey".

As for the rest of the covenant, I reckon that the Forerunners sent them off and isolated them from the flood for their own safety. This was probably after the release of the flood, but before the creation of the halos. If you played Halo 2 then you would know that the city High Charity is a massive ship capable of slipstream travel. So, it's possible. This would also explain why the Covenant have no idea of Halos true purpose. Seeing as humans were chosen to be reclaimers and they were not, this would also explain why the covenant hate us so much.

Gammon, you forget key points in the conversation that me and gig already had. This is why people should read the whole post instead of centering on one line. The existence of who the forerunners are were erased(by the previous activation of the halos) so the humans could not know that they had built the halos, neither the covenant, that is why the war is still going on. Only a few survived the firing of the halos, one was guilty spark, another could be cortana, and maybe a few foreunners. The humans are the reclaimers of something that was originally theirs, yet no one knows this fact but GS, that's the point.

High Charity was connected to a Forerunner ship. At the end of Halo2 it launched. You'd think there'd be some clue about the Forerunners in the ships data banks or something right? Not to mention all the other Forerunner installations scattered throughout the galaxy. Also, the halos only wipe out potential flood hosts. It'd leave all the data and records left behind by the forerunners wouldn't it?

Gammon so your saying that Regret said this because he doesn't know that the humans were chosen? That they just know that the Forerunners built them and that is why they are sacred? I think that makes a lot of sense, but I don't think we will come to a settlement before halo 3 comes out anyway.
