Have you ever...
Have you ever...
been somewhere and overheard someone talking about a subject as if the are the one and only authority when it's obvious they have no idea what they are talking about?
It happened to me a few hours ago. My husband and I were having lunch with our children and as we were wrapping things up a family sat down at the next table. Most of them were about to move to the "Provo Ogden" area and one of them was telling the others what to expect. It turns out his expertize was based on living in a town with the population of a high school for one year. (Provo and Ogden are not only not next to each other they are metropolitan areas.) His description of what they were facing was so ridiculous and off the mark it was all I could do to keep from laughing out loud.
What made it so funny was not just that he was so off but that it was obvious he was trying to impress his friends and I don't think they were buying it. At least I hope not or the man might shave off his beard for fear of being considered a "mountain man". lol
All of a sudden I have alot more sympathy for people I know from Onterio telling others that they drive sled dogs. lol It's just so ridiculous.
So does anyone else have any tales of the ridiculous and sublime to share?

I'm all ears.
All the time...
Some nobody who visits my mother alot is exactly the kind of "know all about nothing".
Short sighted, stupid, pompous, believes everything television tells him...
Those should be familiar symptoms for anyone who has come in contact with someone like that...
I can't stand him but I figure that he can stay stupid forever as long as it doesn't rub off on somebody else. Unfortunately they all try to make people see things their way...and that makes me jump to kill mode.

Yes, I do hear that tons of times and does it several times myself without knowing it. Usually no one there is going to bust me, but I realize it myself and reminds oneself to shut up and listen next time
and other people do it too, especially when they talk about sports...
'Cause you give me something / That makes me scared, alright / This could be nothing / But I'm willing to give it a try / Please give me something
'Cause someday I might call you from my heart

I do it all the time and the funny thing is, SOME PEOPLE ARE GULLIBULE ENOUGH TO BELIEVE IT! I'm awed sometimes how you don't even have to be smart in this world just "sound" smart, and people believe you. Sigh, I love america.

good point, and then when a guy who actually KNOWS what he's talking about comes in, you're the one stuck looking like an idiot. It's a gamble, but I still do it.
