And the eight eyed dog demon is an evil anubis, and the eyes are considered the evil eye (see Yu Yu Hakusho) it amplifies his power ten fold.

Hello, I'm new to this forum but I love anime and I just had to join.
I have a question; Where did the writers/drawers get the eight eyed hound and the black tenticles with all the eyes on it when Alucard invokes the Cromwell Initiative and releases most of his power? Is it something related to a demon or did they just make that up themselves, and if they did I wonder where they got the inspiration from.
Hello?

Well.....the eyes represent (i'm thinking of a smart answer here) the HUMONGO power of Alucard. I didn't associate them with anything. I liked them a lot because they simbolize power, great power. The explanation with Anubis is quite logical but I like to think they are there just for "fun". Really I haven't had so much fun at a series so violent ever. I was enjoying every moment of it just like Alucard was seeking pain for fun.
