Hellsing Season 2 (Hellsing Ultimate OVA)

Hey does anyone know when the new hellsing season 2 is coming out.I saw it at the anime expo this year any info would help thanks ^_^

There is no season 2 of Hellsing. What's in development is 'Hellsing Ultimate' a OVA series of indeterminate episode count, with episodes 35 minutes in length, that is a complete retelling of the Hellsing story, but this time, closely following the original manga story line, (and supervised by the original manga writer Kouta Hirano). The series is already licensed by Geneon Entertainment, which is providing partial funding for the series. There has been no official anouncement on a release date...

I am much anticipating watching this. I have been following the manga closely and am quite the fan of Herr Major.

I'll bet thats just because there are no Soviets in Hellsing.

I really hope they won't tone the gore down in the OVA.

Section 13 needs more airtime too, Heinkel, Yumie, Maxwell, Anderson.

Hmmm, most interesting... According to the URL name of this website stub, Rondo Robe is the studio that is actually doing the Hellsing OVA, and not studio GONZO (which lately has been over extended with too many ongoing anime productions...)

That is interesting. I'm about 80% sure that the trailer for the OVA that was shown at Anime Expo had Gonzo as the animation studio in the credits. A mid-production change of studio, perhaps...?

The original press release was with Geneon, and the company that owns Studio GONZO, but from the very beginnings of Hellsing Ultimate, GONZO was never officially mentioned by name... And GONZO has been over-extended lately with it's production schedual (The 5 episode Yukikaze OVA series, which started at the same time as Last Exile is only now finishing at the end of this month...)

Edit: Anime News Networks lists studio Satelight as doing the actual production, (and it's name is mentioned in the anouncement poster...) Among the recent works that Satelight has done is 'Earth Maiden Arjuna', 'Heat Guy J', and the 'Macross Zero' OVA series...
