Yes but the fact of the matter is, the free wallpapers section contained work that was ripped from other sites, which is not something which should not be done. If someone posts a wallpaper from another site in the gallery they are typically banned, as far as I know we didn't care about the ringtones or the aim icons, but wallpapers are an important part of AnimeOnline, and putting wallpapers up on this site which do not belong to us is one of the things we have been against from the start, it's stealing.

I agree totally. Was an honest mistake when we first created the page.

Since the work was paid for (coding and gathering of the content)... we can restrict it to work created by LK himself. The pages can be modified accordingly.

spdude's story is that he has paid Katsu to create the three pages we've seen. ringtones and buddy icons aside, as none of us give a shit about them, we're focusing on the stolen wallpapers which goes against our own policy that's been up since before I even joined the site. That's the problem.

spdude says he didn't supply any walls, they came straight from katsu, and that these pages, distributing these stolen pieces of work have been up for well over a month now since AO was purchased.

We've got a lot of things wrong with this scenario, for one, we have an owner not very interested in anime, two, there are things going on behind the staff's back that are directly violating our own policies, and three, it seems to me that katsu's trying to play both sides, I can understand you wanting to make money man, but don't lie or hide. I want to know exactly what OTHER pages and criteria that's getting the AO website out there, and I want to know who set it up, and if there's pirated work on there.

I understand the error in displaying those walls which were taken from other sites. What I mentioned above about LK providing the content and coding the pages (the whole deal as a paid project) is true of course. He used some of his own work, some from AO itself, and some from other sites. I'm ready to chop the pages down to the point where the content is totally legit.

As for there being other pages of this nature on the site, you can check yourself. There's nothing more.

My whole promotion of the site has been by linking it from other sites and getting the home page and other pages to rank high in search engines. After all, the purchase was an investment... and with the increased traffic I don't have to worry about bandwidth costs and the like. Also, I'm not selling any walls. Revenue is being generated from ad clicks (80% or more from those three pages).

Having a revenue stream coming from isolated pages in my opinion is far better than subjecting members to fees or solicating donations etc. (or loading the main site with tons of ads) With my setup there will never be a need for donations.. and bandwidth usage can increase even ten times more, and still there will never be a need for more funds.

ok... so I take it, if the page in question was reduced and made to confrim to AO policies then there is no issue?
