Drag the fonts that you have downloaded to the folder font that is located in the control panel. If you have windows xp change the control panel to classic view. Once you do that you'll see a folder that says fonts. I hope this can help you.
How to add new fonts in GIMP?... I've tried everything I could, spent hours looking for the fonts folder but no success =( Can anyone PLEASE tell me how to do this I really want to know >.>

I couldn't find a tutorial of it when I searched *blind*, but I remember seeing one at that site - because that's how I learnt! I think it's in the general help section.
if not then, if your using xp
Download the font> unzip it > copy the unzipped file > go to start > control panel > fonts > paste it in that folder> open up gimp and
Voila!
hopefully the fonts there..

I just read you can't find the font folder, well do a search on your computer put something like "font" in or something
