ok so i want to make a site... for free. ya know? I know about invisionfree.com But that just dosen't apeel to me. I also want to know about gimp. My cousin has it on his com. but i am curious about it.... can anyone help?
All depends on what type of website you want to create. Just static pages or also dynamic pages? There's lots of free script software out there that does an excellent job. What is your level of experience first? Need to know this before anyone can advise you where to start.
Dream Weaver is a good program to create web sites. It is easy to use and it doesn't take you a lot of time to make a web site.
ah, yes. dreamweaver is a good one. i cannot give comment about other software because i never try the other... except from open source and note pad....

You really need a bit of experience and knowledge in web design in order to use Dreamweaver. If you are a beginner, I would recommend FrontPage and do an online tutorial with this.
Don't create pages from scratch. Use templates and just adjust the style and colours to your liking. Of course, you will need to fill in the content then too.
