I hear Nagoya U's a relatively good place for most degrees. :)
Of course, ideally one should aim for the best (i.e. Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Tohoku) but I've heard good stuff about Nagoya U too. Nothing specific though. I don't personally know anyone who studied there.
