i can't say none of these languages interest me; i'm still trying to learn spanish. why would someone try to learn a star trek fantasy language and not one that come from planet earth? could there be potential for it in the government sector?

I don't see what's all so sad about someone learning Klingon. I bet that that someone doesn't think of it as sad, and as for it being totally useless, I think that the ones who actually really want to learn Klingon are the die hard Star Trek fans and then when they learn the language they can impress other trekkies making it at least somewhat useful.
