what a hell of a month. finished it off by doing a 3,300 mile trip alone, to drop off some servers in dallas and pick some more up in San Antino and bring them back to California. things are starting to settle down in my life, and its time to work on the site. its been left idle too long I guess. Lord Katsuhito will be uped to Admin access today, to help with the new layout and perhaps new mods / improvments to the site. I know I started a to-do list awhile back, but I am sure its time for a new one. Right now I assume one of the biggest things that needs to be worked on is the gallery. What do you guys think is the best way of going about this? what changes need to be made? the gallery is one of the biggest traffic generators for the site. If its possible I would like to get it so the quick rate is not possible, also that people need a min of 50 post before they can vote? maybe that will weed out some of the junk. I also think its time for new sections? maybe a free for all non moderated gallery? that might keep the other sections "cleaner" anyhow let me know what you think / your ideas. (for the gallery now, we will move on to other things later)

Bad idea for the free for all section. People will be putting things there that are going to be very inappropriate. We need to add a function where they have to type at least 20 letters for a comment (excluding spaces and other non letters).
Can there be a way to prevent them from downloading images untill they have commented? That will encourage them to comment and with the 20 letter min rule, i think will improve the gallery.
The quickrate can be taken out with a HTML edit of the image view template File
I have to agree, the FFA section would definately be a mistake. Not only would we get loads and loads of copywritten material, but that is a quick way to get a law suit for allowing it to go up un-moderated. Not knowing something is copywritten is one thing, but knowing it is and letting it stay up is a completely different story. I also agree that quick rate needs to go.
Now, first thing is first, congrats to LK. (Sorry, but from now until the end of time i'm calling you LK, I'd get old writing out your entire name every time.) Also, welcome back, Dan!
Next order of business, ideas, things that need to be done, etc. Myself and LK were discussing a few changes that would make things a bit neater around here.
First one was removing the listing for CM status under forum leaders. It isn't needed, I know there is a way to disable it showing because i've done it on Yaxio when I added and removed special groups.
Next thing, a few of the mods have double modding set which essentially does nothing other than clutter up that forum leader page. Since this board only has 4 groups and being a mod of those 4 groups is essentially being a mod of everything, they should all be set like that to clean it up a bit. Gig did mine the correct way when he re-added me.
Another thing, all staff members (no matter what level) have the same underline and bold. It would be a lot easier for members to pinpoint the level of staff they want to address if those were back the way they were before, (bolded mods, bold and italic admins) and perhaps a bold and underline for our Supermod Zui? Just an idea to throw around.
Another feature brought up by LK, was the ability to do a multi-action while replying to a topic. For example, take what we have now with the quick reply and add some check boxes for moderator options. For example, with that we can reply "and also close this topic."
More smilies! We're seriously lacking, I miss being able to have a laughing face instead of typing "LOL" every time. (trust me, I keep wanting to put :lol" and then remember that we don't have one) Also, some of the ones we have up now have a horrible looking border around them (not sure what that is) so might wanna find replacements. We used to have so many, now we barely have any.
There was a few other ideas I had, but I can't recall all of them right now.
yeah you really dont wanna know just how bad it can get when you open the floodgates with this crowd ^_^; us being sued would be probably one of the tamer penalties lol.
The main thing is to keep the population active while getting rid of anyone that is overly troublesome and makes the place not fun for the general masses.
And I dont even want to have to drive that far delivering servers ^_^;;;
as for new ideas we should have game servers ^_- I dont know why we just should lol than trunks and I can beat people in games and offer them peace by coming here

Not to mention that the internal Sig hosting function is still broken and needs to be fixed. (If we made it so that ALL sigs had to be internally hosted, that would cut down on the problems of oversized sig graphics/multiple sig graphics...)
