how do you tell a burn program to bun an iso image to files or can you just extract them?
i am tryiny to in stall linux and i need to get the files on my hard draive so that i can do the install.

Programs like nero has the capability to extract whatever is inside the ..iso file
if the file is small enough, then you use your cd burner ($20 buks for one at Fry's, that's why your best buys are always at Fry's)
or simply use this thing called the "daemon tool"

Daemon tools does the trick as stated earlier.
It simply mounts the image to a virtual drive and that allows you to use whatever files that are in the ISO.
