![]() ![]() Credits: 220 | japanese anime music or english anime music I've been listening to a lot of anime theme songs/anime music and I decided to listen to them in english and see how they sound I think they sound terrible I like the original japanese versions. I wanna know what opinions people might have on english versions of anime music or japanese versions of anime music. Which do you like better? Last edited by SuperAkuma; Apr 15, 2005 at 05:24 PM. |

![]() ![]() Credits: 13,241 | Well this dub lover actually likes the japanese versions of an anime song better. Figure that!! I'd heard a few english ones I like, but not many. Even then it was sung by a japanese artist. ![]()

![]() ![]() Credits: 260 | Totally agree with the above poster.I love my anime dubbed but I prefer the ops and ends in their original form.I might like to see the subtitles once to see what their singing about but other than that I cool. However the KiddyGrade english openings and endings were pretty well done; on the other hand the Drangon ball GT english openings were a disaster. What was wrong with the originals. :Thumbd:

![]() ![]() Credits: 230 | I prefer them in their original language. I really enjoy listening to Japanese music mostly because of Anime. I don't like the english versions, but I do like to know the meaning of the lyrics.

I much prefer the original Japanese anime songs over English anime songs anyday though I agree with Hiko that it'll be a beneficial thing to know the lyrics ^__^ | |

| AO Member | The English version of the original Record of Lodoss War OVA opening isn't too bad. The only other english versions of anime songs I've heard are the English versions of Lacus Clyne's two songs from Gundam SEED. They are painful to listen to, as it seems Lacus' English voice actress did them and she sings off key quite a bit. And, her singing voice sounds about fifteen years older than the voice she uses normally for the character. Lacus' japanese actress, Rie Tanaka, is quite the singer though. It always amazes me how the Japanese voice actors do a lot of songs for character CD's and such. The women usually do a really good job with it to. As far as voice actress/singers I like Maaya Sakamoto the best.

![]() ![]() Credits: 210 | I don't like English remakes of Japanese songs. I've heard a few, Inu Yasha, Magic Knight Rayearth, Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, Captor Captor Sakura. They just don't sound right at all... especially if you have a scene where the character is singing and the mouth movements totally don't match at all. It looks weird. But I don't might English anime songs. Where the Japanese artist sings in English. Not many can do it well, by Maaya Sakamoto is quite good singing in English. Vector from Vision of Escaflowne is one of my favourite songs. Plus alot of Yoko Kanno's music (especially for Cowboy Bebop, GITS SAC and Wolf's Rain) is sung in English. I really like Steve Conte as well.

![]() ![]() Credits: 151 | Hmmm....interesting question. Usually I don't mind at all whether the anime/game theme song is in Japanese or English. Save for one time though, I had aquired a copy of the Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles ost quite some time before the games release, and i got so used to the theme song being in Japanese that when the game was actually released i felt kinda akward listening to it in English. But other than that it doesn't normally bother me.
