    -Knocking on Heavens Door-

This is based purely on observation and conjucrture: I find that people on the whole tend not only to fear death, but loathe it all together, as if to say “Death is an enemy or villain”. Do you personally feel this way? Are people generally accepting of death, do they embrace it, or are they afraid of it and secretly resent the principle of death?

It's probably about being scared of the unknown.
Fear of death/dying can seriously hamper movement, thinking,...
That's why alot of people like soldiers are trained not to fear death.

Is a completely different story with strong believers though, they (think they) know "what's next" so the fear of the unknown is (somewhat) taken away.

My opinion of death varies depending on the mood I'm in. Like right now, I'm thinkin' death wouldn't be so bad, really. If I were really down in the dumps, my thoughts would prolly be "Hmph, why can't I hurry up and die already!?" When I'm happy, I think "Y'know, it'd be cool not to die right now. Mebbe later."

So really, I'm never afraid of death. Death's just like going to sleep for a while anyway. It's not like I'm gonna be all like "Meh, I'm dead, why can't I be alive!?", because I'll be dead, and kinda not able to be thinking about being alive...

Well, those are my thoughts on the subject.

Hassun summed things up pretty well, I'd have to agree with his assessment.

I personally don't feel that death is a villain or enemy. Death is inevitable and unavoidable, so I find it is pointless to worry about it. In a way, I'm sort of curious as to what to expect, though if my theory is correct, the answer is nothing.

    Hell and Satan??

Well for me, I am afraid of death, because I am still young and while I am not too happy with life right now, and would rather stay in bed in the morning I do not prefer an eternal nap

'Cause you give me something / That makes me scared, alright / This could be nothing / But I'm willing to give it a try / Please give me something
'Cause someday I might call you from my heart

If death's gonna get ya, then death's gonna get ya.

There's no stopping it. Just being born gives you a 100% chance of death.

I think few people actually realize that they're going to die. I mean, on a superficial level ya think "yea yea everyone dies, one day i will too".. but i dont really know if deep down in your core you dont also deny it. Most people assume they're going to live forever. its really hard to get your mind around that idea. I think that to sit down and really think the thought "Yes, I will die. I am going to die, and it could happen at any time" is a scary thing to do. we would live our lives differently if we really believed it.

The end is important in all things.

I fear death at certain times, and other times I am peaceful and just think of it as the next step. It'll come whether I'm ready or not, so I don't get hating it... Spike is very cool in show about his theory of death, finding out whether or not he's alive... Depends on mood though...
