I gave up trying to understand everything a long time ago, but you are right, even though I said I dont understand labeling but I still use it, it's like if I meet a new person, I will try to find out what they are like, then put them in a catagory, then I know how to act around them....I guess everyone does it, even if they don't know they do.

    Re: labels and labeling

Labeling is used for 2 purposes, to be inclusive or to be exclusive. I have no problem with labels used to include people but I have every problem with any label used to exclude someone.

Sure you base your reactions to a person based on how they act, dress, and talk but that isn't necessary labeling. Labeling (exclusive) is when you decide that someone is acceptable or unacceptable based on whether they fit into "your" labels.

I hate labels even though I use them but only when they really are that label, lots of people are called goths, but when people call some one that around here they're implying that ur the stereotypical devil worshiping blood drinking satanic person. It's very insulting, get to know someone before you stick something like that on someone. People are so juvinile

chav- burbery weaing fans of rnb and the likes

wierdos- the people i like the most who don't really fit in to the previous, i used to be one of these but i am definitely moving into goth terrotory.

    Re: labels and labeling

lables are ok to use for me that way i know who to stay away from and who i can become friends with. but most of the time it doesnt matter. im friends with everyone. but the Jack*ss's. ya.

    1) yes i use these lables for certain people..

    1. prep - a giggily girl whos too stupied to know whats right from left and is too absorbed in shopping and boys. one of those b*tchy type girls too, that seem like there always on pms.

    2. anime peps- people who love anime like i do and are very cool.

    3. goths- people who dont give a sh*t for most thingts.

    4. skaters- people who are punk and love skater music and skate alot

    5. rockers- people who love rock music

    6. hasbens- guys who try to impress girls by playing sports infront of them without shirts on.

    7. hasbens_girl- girls who actually like seeing the hazbens play and try to use there body to get them to go out with them.

    8. sluts/whores- girls who were to skimpy of an outfit and try to get every guy in the school.

thats it for now ill add more later when i think of it.

    2) yes sometimes.

    3) no im sorry but i dont lable myself to "fit it" to a group of people. i have my friends already who dont care what i am. or who i am.

In England we dont have preps, jocks and as for geeks well, I'm not really sure...but instead we have people like chavs, and greebos or pikeys or whatever.

btw for a definition on chav go on google and search for "Vicky Pollard" or Wan*ers
and a greebo, is just what chavs call anyone who doesnt wear burberey.

    Re: labels and labeling

greebo's are in general a group who came about when rock met rap in away and made bands like limp bizkit, they lasted for a while but from what i saw in my school the greebo's kinda becames the chavs, and then used greebo as an insult. and i only use three as id on't like labeling people, but i do really feel that chavs in general are that nice and from my experince there are about 1 nice one in about 20, and as the other 19 feel it their duty to throw beer over me i choose to avoid them in general. i'lll try and get a nice list of all the kind of people who i put in my goth category as that can be broken down into around 10 different goups.

The only labels I use are:

    Friends - My Friends

    Stupid Hippies - Everyone Else
