layers (in Photoshop)

how do u do layers on photoshop
i can do the backrounds great but its geting the pic on the sig that i dont get can any one help me?? plz and thank you ^_^~*

1) do ctrl+shit+N
or
2)

layers are for adding brushes or doing anything else to add to your sig I mean you could try to di it all on one layer but that wouldn't work out very well, if you are looking for a good sig you should have 8+ layers

10 layers....wow thats.. a bit much i must say press CTRL E to merge layers so u can cut down on the space ^_^

Ryo teach me ur style PLZZZ IM EGER TO KNOW THIS also thanks for the comment tip i dont merge layers much because i dont have to use that many for my sigs unless im duplicating layers

just go to the picture and Edit>>Copy (ctrl+C) and Edit>>Paste (ctrl+P) to where you want to put it. just make sure you make a selection before you do this.
