That's so true. I guess, what I meant, was constructive criticism (hope I spelled that right). But yeah, those three words, like 'That's great!' or 'That sucks!' doesn't really help a person get better at what they do.

But what about the ones that actually did write something? atleast it was something! Taking wallpapers without doing anything is wrong, I think leechers should definately be blocked out otherwise the cycle will just repeat themselves. Somehow MAKE them participate in the forums like they do at MT or something. That will teach them

i remember having to work my way up to community member status to get walls on the old AO
actually i didn't even know when i received community member status, the posting part just seemed to get more interesting then getting wallpapers
even when i did dl i'd always try to post something constructive, compliment the work on where i thought it was good and give my opinion on things that i personally thought could have been better
i just hate it when i post something for the purpose of getting advice and people don't really bother to say anything useful.

I see that on deviantart lots of times. I also see people stealing Japanese CG from Japanese sites too just to get that recognition. I think I only seen that happen once on this site. I thought they got the gallery setup so only members can go in.

hmmm... you used to have to be a community member to DL pics from paleo-AO (bfr the crash)? when i came here i was looking for walls and didn't even realize there was a forum for three months. after i found the forum i quickly became addicted to it!

yeah leeching is bad and so is theft. FYI> i believe that in many states if you can prove it the theft of intellectual property is worth a 5000$ fine. problem is both parties have to be within the jurrisdiction of the court and proving it aint always so easy.
