    The Legend of Boggy Creek

Has anyone here ever seen or at least heard of this small/forgotten film? It's a horror flick from the 70's that's "based on actual events" regarding a southern myth about a man-sized beast similar to Bigfoot that stalks the bordering areas of Arkansas and Oklahoma. Funny thing about this movie is that its basically shoe string budget, kinda corny here and there and almost documentary in style with virtually no names and locals playing themselves, yet its actually quite foreboding and convincing as a whole. Even funnier is that there isn't even a single drop of blood in the whole picture and yet something is so disturbing about it and it really sticks with you afterwards. It's a pretty good film, i found it 2 months ago for about 10 clams in a indie record store and would definately suggest picking it up if you ever come across it (try the used or sale bins in just about any store you get your dvd's from).

YES! Actually, I've seen Ledgend of Boggy Creek 2, it was a Mystery Science Theatre movie. God, it's just awful. I don't have the foggiest why they felt the need to make 2. I don't know about it being even mildly scary, or even that entertaining outside of the absolute crappiness of it. And I have seen it without the MST3K treatment. It was even more unbearable. But maybe the first one is a lot different? But hey, if you have a thing for B movies, then I agree, pick it up. Though I think paying 10 bucks for it is entirely too much...

And I remember now, at the top of my lungs in my arms, she dies, she dies.
