Eros -- This is the word used for sensual or physical love. Eros was the Greek god of love.
Stergo -- This word means to feel affection, especially the affection between parents and children. It is also used of the affection of a people for their king or a dog for his master.
Philo -- This is the general word for love and affection. It is used for attraction of people to one another without regard for family relationships, such as philadelphia, the love of a friend or brother, It is frequently used in compound forms and, as such, may be used for attraction to inanimate objects -- philosophia -- the love of knowledge.
Agape (noun) and agapao (verb) -- Divine, unconditioned love.
If all your after is Eros then by societies standards you don't trully love someone. I have heard it put best as "Love is when you want what is best for the other person. Lust is when you simply want the other person."
The ideal is a combination of Eros, Philo, and Agape. Without all three no relationship will last.
Unless you are from a foreign country where it's ok to date more than one girl, I frown upon it. Love is sharing good feelings towards "one person" that you like. Also to be faithful to that person as well.
I believe that Love is something between TWO people. it is about caring and wanting to be with another person, liking their imperfections and their perfections!!!
Love is something that happens with out you knowing when it will happen but it happens, you can not control it, is just something you personally know that you are. No-one can tell you, you are in love you just know!!!!!!!!
I don't think that you can ever love more than one person at the same time!!!
It is also i wish to have some day but have never found the right person!!

Yes!! i agree!! but i do not agree with the 'love hurts' i would say lonleyness and desire for somthing unobtainable hurts not love, for it is the feling of lonleyness that creates the pain not the feeling of love.Quote:

There is no way love should be, its different for everyone and thats why it is wonderful. Yes love can hurt, but its also joy - but hey, theirs no joy if theirs no hurt. When i started my current relationship some months ago.. it completely brightened my view of the world and so much more, for me.. love is very much a wonderufl thing that makes this world worth living in.
Love isnt one single thing, it slike.. how you like how this person acts, or does or thinks, so many things. And i remember a quote from 'ghost in the shell' ost.... which was... "love comes out of lusting" which i supose it could - if you learned to respect and care for the person. The different types.. love for your partner, fmaily love, love you hold for friends, so on.. so amny ways and types.
I must disagree with the basis that love has to hurt. People, there are so many idiots *cough*chicks*cough* out there, that have no idea what love is and can become - yeah, when you get hurt, that wasn't love in the first place. More like a "deep liking" that is often confused for love. I have fallen in love twice, and the feeling in indiscribeable. Honestly, I'm in a relationship at the moment where we share a love for one another, and I almost know that we are going to be together for eternity. I guess everyone has their times when they're hurt, but it's all a process to find out what you really need, or even to find fate. Love is real.
[QUOTE]But in the end, for me at least, I believe the Bible said it best:
Love is patient; love is kind
and envies no one.
Love is never boastful, nor conceited, nor rude;
never selfish, not quick to take offense.
There is nothing love cannot face;
there is no limit to its faith,
its hope, and endurance.
In a word, there are three things
that last forever: faith, hope, and love;
but the greatest of them all is love.
~ Corinthians 1:13 ~[QUOTE]
Couldn't agree better!!...
Sometimes its cool to see that when u love someone, just being in the person's presence is satifying enough. U just sit beside the person and do nothing...and its so wonderful...=)
