It would never make it to court. Quit being an idiot.
That's like me suing you for being an idiot. Sure, it seems possible and I may get some publicity out of it, but it's just not gonna work.
The most likely response to such a thing is the marshals or whatever authority figure they choose to send out in front of a mic apologizing for the rash action, but asking any family or friends to understand that they took necessary action upon a possible threat to national security.

Im just annoyed that he didnt shoot to disable first. i mean, it is possible he had no choice but to shoot to kill, but that should be a LAST resort. and before you go and say "its hard to shoot a dude to disable when running" we arent talking about an average cit. we are talking about an AIR MARSHALL who is trained to shoot to disable in those circumstances.

There's no way that shooting to kill should be a last resort when the lives of a hundred or so people are at stake. Shooting to disable won't always stop someone from detonating a device. This is one of those times when shooting first, asking questions later is most often a good thing.

he was mentally ill, i think he was schizophrinic, sorry if i spelled that wrong. and that is a serious mental illness.

and shoot to kill should always be a last resort. our society i think is becoming a little too quick to the trigger. even if lives were at stake, what was the possiblity of the man having a bomb, yelling i have a bomb, his wife saying he is mentally ill, the plane having records of his mental illness (or at least they should). He could have been armed with rubber bullets or tranqs....he could have shot to a less lethal spot. but to shoot to kill not as a last resort scares me. it lessens not only human life but human death.

Re: Man Shot in Miami Airport

Air Marshalls are not taught to 'shoot to disable' they are taught to 'shoot to kill'. If he had acutally had a bomb where would it have been. If it's on him, shooting to disable would only encourage him to trigger it. If he's dead, he can't trigger it. Plain and simple. In the end, the Air Marshall did what he was trained to do. Now he'll have to live with that for the rest of his life.

The Air marshall did nothing wrong. He warned him. He tried everything before shooting him to get him to stop. But once the gun is out...they are taught to use it with maximum force.

But just for the sake of argument, what if he had tired 'shoot to disable' and the victim did have a bomb that he then detonated? Would we then feel that the Air Marshall followed proper precedure? No. We'd all demand his head on a pole.

Air Marshalls are human too. There was no way for him to know rather or not the victim did or did not have a bomb. Let's not decide rather or not the Air Marshall reacted correctly based on rather or not he had a bomb as well.
