As for what rice said, there are a few people that use that statement. Especially when you meet some of the "Black belts" out there.

Because it would lead us off topic, the martial artist's egoism usually isn't limited to belts alone and I have to say belts don't intimidate alot of people anymore.

Yes, because no matter how powerful people would only result in name calling and using projectile weapons ala guns

Martial arts, nowadays, are good for good long-lasting physical, mental, and spiritual health... but not because of any sort of defense against others. It's more just a defense against aging. So if you don't plan on getting into any actual fights, martial arts will keep you young and spry for years to come.

If you DO plan on getting into actual fights, visit a firing range.

I think there more helpful than anything else. I mean cmon, remember that story in the news last year about the guy who tried to steal a car and once he got inside the 4 female passengers ended up being Tae Kwon Do students, and they beat him to a pulp. See martial arts are definately helpful.

that actual happened here where I live, a person was able to wrestle a gun away from the person who broke in the house and so the robber decide to run out of the house but the homeowner chased him down and shot the robber down lol

Ok but did he end up in jail for shooting the robber? If the robber sued him he would have a good chance of winning.
