I thought it was pretty good. I read the book this previous summer.
I really liked the costumes. But, couldn't they have made her eyes a little more like a silvery blue?
I saw the movie over christmas break. I liked it, but was disappointed. So much build up, so much of a depressing outlook on life, and then it ended, happily at that. I am reading the book right now, and I'm eating it up. Did you have a different impression?
I thought they did a good job doing it in english because you could tell that Sayuri(chiyo) had not been westernized. While Matasume(not sure of spelling) was westernized with her accent.
