Memories of The Third Cat, French Fry
Spud, Tater (Potato), and French Fry.
I use to have 3 cats,
But now only two.
All three of them were tabby cats,
But French Fry was a long haired, and yellow fur.
The other two were short black and gray fur.
We called French Fry, Frenchie for short.
He was a dumb cat.
He did dumb things.
He’d sleep in my open clothes drawer.
He’d run into my room,
Announce his presence,
Then lie in my lap,
As I played Playstation.
He never came straight at me to lay,
He’d always make a circle around me first.
Funniest thing he did,
Was what I call the crash.
He was chasing the scaredy cat, Spud.
I heard them running,
As I sit in my parents floor,
Watching their TV with them.
I see Spud first for about a second or two,
Then Frenchie right behind.
Tater’s by the wall watching,
As the event unfolds.
Spud drops to the floor,
To prepare for a tackle from Frenchie,
As they can’t turn fast enough to make the room.
Spud lies close to the wall,
As Frenchie has to react and leap over Spud.
He chooses the wrong option.
WHAM!!!!!!
I hear the noise just on the other side,
Of the door where I see the cats.
I only see Tater now,
When I see Frenchie come around the door,
Heading back into the kitchen.
He looks drunk as he shakes his head,
And staggers into the kitchen.
I’m rolling in the floor…
My dad is laughing to hard,
I thought he might have a heart attack.
I’ll never forget that cat as long as I live.
But, sadly we had to get rid of him.
We couldn’t take care of him anymore,
Because he was so bad.
I know now he is doctored,
And has a good home now.
I pray I see him again too,
My special little kitty buddy.
That cat was very special to me.
Not just for being a good buddy,
And for his little… instances…
But for being a good cat in every way.
He was the little boy child,
I wish to have some day with the one I love….
Only without the fur.
I’ll see you again my friend.
God, take care of my little Frenchie for me?
