I'm a nail biter and I'm trying to stop (it really is a gross habit), and so I guess I'm just curious:

Do any of you bite your nails?
Have any of you successfully quit chewing your nails?

I've been seriously trying to quit for a few months now, my nails will grow quite a bit but then I relapse and chew them all the way down. When I was younger I didn't care but I think as I've gotten older I started to realize how gross it looks.

Yeah, I'm a nail-biter. I just get so jittery sometimes, and for some reason... it helps calm me down.

I quit biting my nails by coating them with a clear hardener. It became too much work to try and bite them so I eventually stopped.

Yeah i bite my nails not that much anymore tho hey, u can try put on some nasty tasting nail stuff on them, i rember my mom use to do that to me when i was a kid man that stuff tasted so crap u just could chew your nails

I chew my nails when I'm bored, depressed, or nervous. I stopped for a while before, but then I started again, but I wasn't trying to stop anyway.

I'm not contributing to the tobacco problem, so my nail biting doesn't bother me that much. If all else fails, you can always try to muster up the courage for hypnosis.
