You people have to understand that almost every teen oriented anime is made to be less offensive/bloody/erotic than the original manga.
I'm not even talking about possible american versions. The japanese do it as well.

Other examples:
The removal of the sauvastika on Neji's forehead in Naruto.
The huge decrease of nudity in Tenjou Tenge.
Decrease of gore/blood in many anime.
The list goes on...

i second that. i mean, you can't expect children of ages 4+ to watch the 'original' naruto series with all the violence, etc. which is exactly why they've changed it around. a friend of mine sent me a picture from the dubbed version of naruto, and it had me laughing for days...

those who've seen the original anime, or read the manga, might remember that naruto had a kunai in hand, and had stabbed it into his hand to show his determination. but in the dubbed anime...he's holding a lunch box and apple o_O
