Thread: Naruto US debut on Cartoon Network

Let alone the Sexy no Jutsu, be it a digital bikini or more "smoke".

All in all, I look forward to watching it just so I can nitpick at everything that is wrong. Please, please, please, leave in the original music!

Back when I was first getting into anime I thought that it didn't matter if the show was subbed or dubbed, I liked it just the same. Now that i've been watching anime for so long I notice how much they butcher stuff when they dub it. I being a big fan of One Piece, watched up to 100+ of the subtitled version, when I saw what they did to it with their dub it really pissed me off. I don't expect Naruto to be any better, it is a real downer when an anime you love so much gets ruined so badly in the dubbing process. So yeah, I don't have high expectations for this, I am betting they ruin it just like they ruin all the good anime titles. I know it will be something, either the voices will suck for the characters, the moves will be named something stupid, it will be censored out the ass, or the translations will be way off; any or all of that is a possiblity. Not sure exactly how, but they'll screw it up somehow.

Wow.... when will it start and what time will it be starting. My friend has this anime and looks awesome. It would be kool to see it from the very beginning.

It is also good to know that the company who is going to dub the series has a good reputation.

When I read that, I seriously just went "WHAT!"

I can't believe you watch One Piece, not to criticize you or anything, but I can't imagine anyone watching it, because when I saw One Piece on Toonami, it looked like a terrible made kiddie show. I can't believe that the show might actually be good. Now I'm thinking, what will really happen to Naruto. Like I said in my last post, I was sort of indifferent, but I have seen 3 volumes of it so far, and I just hope they don't make it look or sound terrible. And yes, they MUST keep the music.

That's because what you have seen is a horribly edited, "kiddie" show. The show is quite good in Japanese and unedited (of course).

Well, the Japanese version was actually entertaining. The version they put on cartoon network was horrible.

Okay, I think the first thing that you should be asking yourself here is, "Why am I judging an anime after only seeing the dub." Knowing how much they butcher things when they dub it, honestly, anyone should know better. Just goes to show you, don't watch only the dubbed version of things, it gives you a bad opinion on the show itself. The japanese version wasn't nearly as kiddy as the dubbed version. Sure it leaned a little on the kiddy side but it wasn't nearly as horrible. I couldn't even stomache watching the dubbed version of it, if that tells you anything.
