![]() ![]() Credits: 11,937 | Natural Disasters - God or Humanity Sure, there have been a lot of natural disasters lately(the Tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, earthquakes, etc.). And it seems that religion turns these natural disasters into acts of God. Humans may have caused these disasters with global warming. Or it may just be nature and not related to anything at all. Is it God(religion), humanity, or just nature causing these disasters? Your opinions? |

![]() Lady Barronmore | Re: Natural Disasters - God or Humanity So the question is whether it is? 1)God 2) Man 3) Nature (just to be clear) I would imagine it depend on whether you are religious or not. 2 is definately out though. We give far to much credit to humanities ability to mess with nature in my opinion. I have yet to hear where we can cause earthquakes and according to the scientists we have actually been overdue for the other things (especially hurricanes). |

![]() ![]() Credits: 6,536 | Re: Natural Disasters - God or Humanity It all depends where you stand religously, as some have already said. But personally, I think Mother Nature is trying to tell us all something.

![]() ![]() Credits: 310 | Re: Natural Disasters - God or Humanity I don't believe that any of it should have hit unexpected simply due to the fact to how calm the weather was in prior years. There's the whole thing about the "calm before the storm". If there's anything that's proven true over the years, an abundance of good leads to an abundance of bad and everything (for the most part, especially concerning nature) remains in balance. It's nature. Plain and simple. If you believe in God, you may say that everything that's happened was God's doing and it all consists of "blessings in disguise". Believe that if you wish, but to me, it's simply nature and nothing more.

| Newbie | Re: Natural Disasters - God or Humanity In my view, its a mixture of all three. Humans have contributed to it yes, but these things happen sometimes and its just down to nature. There's likely a long, detailed, scientifc explanation for it all but Im not going into that. As for God doing some of it, its possible and most likely a matter of your personal religious stance rather than being scientificly proven.

| voluntarily left site | Re: Natural Disasters - God or Humanity The seemingly abundant hurricanes I do speculate are the consequence of humanity's ignorance of nature. However the tsunami and the recent earthquake are merely a coincidence (albeit a catastrophic one) . I say this because hurricanes are weather/temperature dependant, but the tsunami and earthquake are both due to movement of the tectonic plates. I'm no expert, but I don't think anything we've done to the planet thusfar has altered the movements of the earth's plates. It's just that the appearance of the hurricanes betwixt the tsunami and the earthquake give the illusion that there is some kind of agenda here. Of course any time there is a succession of undesirable and uncontrollable events, people are going to immediately jump to conclusions. Though when a series of good events come nobody connects any dots. I suppose it's all in the rather pessimistic minds of people in general. I don't know, that's what I think. |

![]() ![]() Credits: 110 | Re: Natural Disasters - God or Humanity It's Just Fate. Nobody Can Manipulate The Nature. Ok Ok ¬¬ They Keep Tryin' That But I Don't Think That RIGHT NOW They Can Manipulate It With A High Level Of "Perfection" If We Can Call It That... Right Now Human Is Just Like A Baby With New Toys... So Then... It's Just Fate. Everything Is Fate. Don't Hit Me Don't Hit Me ![]() |

Diamond in the Rough | Re: Natural Disasters - God or Humanity Well... The scriptures tell us that first the Lord will send his servents to testify of him...then he will send the testemony of famines and earthquakes. The sea will throw herself from her natual bounds. All the earth will testify of God. I personally feel these are warnings and judgements from God to bring us to repentance.
